The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Wiki guide · Remastered
Best Witcher 3 armor sets by build
There is no universal best Witcher 3 armor set: Feline fits fast combat, Griffin fits signs, Ursine fits strong attacks and survival, Wolven is the hybrid, and Manticore supports late-game alchemy.
01 / Prerequisites
Prepare before leaving
- ✓Unlock the relevant Scavenger Hunt.
- ✓Choose a primary combat style.
- ✓Gather enough crafting materials for a complete set.
02 / Route
Follow the path in order
- 01
Choose by set bonus, not item level
A complete set activates the bonus your skills use. A single higher-level piece can look stronger while breaking the interaction that makes the build work.
- 02
Use Feline for fast attacks
Feline supports light armor, fast attacks and critical pressure. It is the best fit when you can avoid damage consistently.
- 03
Use Griffin for signs
Griffin increases sign effectiveness and fits a controlled combat loop. It underperforms if your skill points are not invested in signs.
- 04
Use Ursine for margin
Ursine is the heavy choice for strong attacks, adrenaline and surviving mistakes. It is the safer first Death March set.
- 05
Use Wolven or Manticore later
Wolven is flexible for mixed builds. Manticore becomes relevant in Blood and Wine when alchemy and mutations are central to the character.
03 / Common mistakes
Avoid the expensive reset
Do not craft every armor school before testing one complete set.
Heavy armor does not replace dodge timing; it only gives you more room to recover.
Remastered reforging can change appearance without changing stats, so keep an older look if you want it.
